Cupping Therapy
In cupping therapy, the therapist places cups on the skin and applies suction, which draws the tissue into the cups. It's meant to break up stagnation and move your blood, increase circulation and lymphatic drainage, and resolve issues that are sometimes deep in the fascia and muscle layers. This process can leave circular bruises on the body ( but these bruises don't hurt like traditional bruises they are more surface layer)
Cupping may be beneficial for many issues, including:
-
Alleviating pain
-
Reducing muscle tightness
-
Increasing a limited range of motion
-
Increasing oxygen in local areas from increased local blood flow
-
Reducing inflammation
-
Increasing blood flow
I OFFER 3 TYPES OF CUPPING:
Swedish Wood Cupping- Creates a vacuum therapeutic effect. This is a technique that employs shaped wood pieces to sculpt the body in desired areas, allowing the therapist to move and drain accumulated lymphatic build up. Wood Therapy will shape and firm some areas of the body accordingly with the body needs. Wood therapy instruments intensify the breakdown of fat and fibrous cellulite, so that it can be eliminated naturally with other toxins thru the lymphatic system. Wood cup can relax tight muscles, accelerate metabolism, provides a unique massage sensation and is a more comfortable form of gua sha.
Stationary Cupping - I use a vacuum pump to pull air out of the cups. By using a hand-held pump, we can control the level of suction so that it will be both effective as well as comfortable for our clients. After being placed on the skin, a suction pump is used to remove air from the inside of the cups. This creates a suction effect that gently lifts the skin up into the cup. Up to 14 cups are placed along the spine, neck and requested pain points on the body and will stay there for about 10-15 minutes.
Silicone Motion Cupping - In this treatment the 1-2 soft cups are moved across the surface of the skin. The suction of the cups increases blood flow to the treatment area which in turn promotes healing and reduces pain.
